For the first time in it’s 160 year existence, the NY Times has named a woman to be its Executive Editor. The executive editor is effectively the head of the newspaper and has considerable influence on its content.

Jill Abramson, 57, is the managing editor of The New York Times. Today, it was announced that she would be the paper’s executive editor in September, becoming the first woman to hold that position.
Whether you are a conservative or liberal, if you are a woman, this is news to celebrate.

A woman has broken through and become the head of a major US newspaper.
Yet another Boomer Woman proving that we are are still blazing trails.
